Biscornu - Small Token Of My Gratitude

Today, I've finished to make a biscornu!

This is a small token of my gratitude for a lady who has helped me a lot these for three years.
But we have to say good bye as she will move back to her home town, and as she knows that my hobby is embroidery so wanted to show what kind of things I have been making and working on, and also to show my appreciation.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments for my last post.
And some friends who sent me e-mails in last few months, please forgive me not to be able to reply you yet, will find time to reply you soon.

Here are some photos to share my completed pieces Biscornu and scissor fob © Atalie.
I love Atalie's Biscornus so much, and had been wanting to make them for a long time!
This design was stitched by Atalie over dyed threads, but I didn't have them nor similar over dyed threads, so used DMC instead.

長年の憧れであった Atalie の Biscornu を作りました。
ずっと以前に違うデザインは作ったことがあったのですが、なかなか高度な見た目に手が出ずにいました。

Biscornu Exchange FOR Miya

As you may know that I've joined Biscornu Exchange (Japanese group) and here is what I made for my partner Miya.
I received an e-mail from her, so I share what I made.
But I received wonderful Biscornus from her, so I so hesitate to show mine... >_<

This is freebie from French site, I thought it would be very lovely as there were my favourite Spider web roses!
I also added beads as chart recommended, and I found a green button in my stash, so I added it on the center of it.

This is the back side of the Biscornu.

I added my favourite light milk pink button on the center on this side.

I thought this is a bit quiet, so I used over dyed thread to sew two pieces together, I hope it got to make it bit more cheerful!

Biscornu Exchange FROM miya (I'm speechless!)

Hi, how have you been spending your summer?
We are having very lazy and cozy time at mum's home, can't believe that we have been living without air-con at present, even though the temperature is very high enough!

By the way, I was going to post this last night, but I was too tired and fell asleep earlier than usual so here they are, here are stunning Biscornues from Miya!
I joined Japanese Biscornu Exchange this summer and Miya was my partner.
I 'm lucky enough to be her partner as you see these wonderful works of her!!

She told me in the e-mail that this orange one she made was too big than she thought, so she made another one for me, how kind of her!
She used over dyed threads for both Biscornues, how beautiful they are!!

This is stitched by one over one, ohh I can imagine how tough it was, but she told me it was fun to stitch as thinking of a partner!
It's stunning, I'm speechless!!

This photo is a backside of them! As same as the face side, they are so beautiful!!
She also added some lovely ornaments for me!

SWAP FROM Rita in Hungary

A few days ago, I received a parcel from Hungary! It was from Rita as "SWAP" gift!
I have never talked with Rita before, and I didn't know who was my partner, so I was so thrilled to open the box!!
Box was so beautifully wrapped with beautiful tissue paper and ribbon, so I carefully opened it!

When I opened the box there ware a lovely card, chocolate, and these beautiful Biscornu and Fob!!
I couldn't take good photos of them in a dark house (my mum's house gets little sunshine...), so I asked Rita to borrow her beautiful photos instead of mine, then she kindly sent me these beautiful photos.
Thank you, Rita!

I was speechless, how beautiful her works are!!! They both are truly perfect!
I have never seen such a beautiful Biscornu before, it's so delicate and soft and just stunning!

I felt that she made them with her heart and very carefully, these works tell me about it so much!
I will definitely treasure them!

This past one year, I found so many Hungarian and Lithuanian stitcher online, and their works always make me so impressed so much!!
I love their taste so much. I also love French stitcher's taste, their red works and finishing are amazing.

I'm so happy that I could have this opportunity to "meet" Rita, such a wonderful stitcher.

And also thank you Nina for organizing this SWAP group!

I sent my SWAP gift for my partner yesterday, I think it will take about a week to get there!

PIF (Pay It Forward) FOR Margaret S.

I'm already back from our short trip to Karuizawa!
It was great, I had so must fun time after a long time!!
Now I have been unpacking and organizing photos of our trip to post here, so please wait for some reports and photos of our journey!

Today I've got an e-mail from Margaret S. to let me know that she has received my PIF gift safely!

I made her this Biscornu, when I thought of her, elegant and soft pale blue came up in my mind, so I decided to use this linen and decided to make something elegant!

Actually my printer has got something wrong, so I couldn't print out this pattern properly, so I stitched this as looking at PC screen (lol)

It was the first time for me to add beads around the edge for Biscornu, but it was so fun and turned out so beautifully!

At the back of this Biscornu, I just made it simple, just stitched this for four corner... and added large button on the center.

I'm happy to hear that she liked it and some goodies that I put together in the package!

This time I didn't add any teas in the package as I heard that Australia and New Zealand customs are very strict! :)
To make PIF gift as thinking about recipients is such a fun!
So I will make different gifts for each PIF member.

I will post some Reports of our journey next time!

My 2nd Biscornu

How was your Halloween?
I hope you all had a fun and lovely day!

I felt like making smalls after a long time, and made my 2nd Biscornu.
I was going to make "Fevrier 2007" Biscornu © Atalie, though I changed some parts.
"Fevrier 2007" is stitched heart motifs with satin stitch, but I changed them to Spider Web Roses that I like so much.

The threads colour are my choice as I didn't have Atalie threads in my stash.
I was quite not sure about this colour, but seeing the completed one, I think it turned out beautifully!

Here is a back side. I added pearl button on the front, and for the back I just added normal button.

I actually like the back side, there are full of eyelet stitch on the back.
Again, I stitched this on 28ct linen that I used for my first Biscornu, so it's quite big, lol

I was very busy past few days, some explanatory meetings for the Preschool where my sweetie will go from next year were held, and also we had to have interviews.
We had 2 interviews and sweetie was a very good boy then, and so he passed both of them! phew...
It's only normal Preschool, but there were a fixed number for each Preschool, so we all had to have an interview to enter.
We chose the one where does Montessori method that we think it does suit for my son.
Anyway, I will have to sew many bags etc... for my son to prepare his start!

My 3rd 2nd Blogoversary is in 7 days, so I'm going to do Blogoversary giveaway on the day!

My First Biscornu (Atalie)

Since I've finished to stitch for Mother's day gift, I've started to stitch Biscornu for May challenge of Monthly Finishing Challenge.
And here it is, my first Biscornu which I really wanted to stitch!


This is just before I sewed two pieces together, this design is just beautiful, isn't this!
I really love this design and wanted to stitch so much since the first time I saw it.

But even after I've got this chart, I had no confidence to finish off as Biscornu...
After I've joined in Monthly Finishing Challenge, I've tried two new things so far, one is Needle Roll and another one is this Biscornu.
This time as I had this beautiful chart, I thought that it's now or never!

Anyway, here is a close up photo of Spider Web Roses.
I love Spider Web Roses very much, that reminds me - my first Needle Roll was also used Spider Web Roses, too!

This time, I didn't have recommended threads at all, so I've chosen suitable threads from my stock.
I used Atalie Silk thread which my French friend Domy (she writes blog in English, too!) has gave me before, GAST and DMC, and stitched on 28ct DMC linen.

And I just have found a big metal rose at my usual local shop, and it was just perfect for this Biscornu!
This photo doesn't show the metal rose colour justice, but it's shinning and very beautiful in the real life.

Here is the back of Biscornu.
For the back, I just added normal, big pink button on it.
And actually the square wasn't satin stitch in the chart, but I couldn't understand how to stitch by the introduction in French, so I just have done satin stitch as same as the front.

I'm so glad that I finally could stitch this design and could make Biscornu!

And also I'm so happy how this turned out, even though I didn't use recommended threads.

What will be the next month challenge?
I'm looking forward to know it, but at the same time a bit nervous, lol

I'm going to start "HoE LHN Exchange" piece from today!
And also will start "Workbasket Quaker Animal Exchange" in a few days!
Both of them, I have been thinking about how to finish off, all the time...

By the way, I bought funny thing yesterday.
Actually I had been wanting this from a long time ago!
There were human version, and actually I wanted the one from these version, but recently I can't find them at all, and all have been changed to animal version, so I bought dog one.

This is grass dog (I think I should be his godmother!), he is bald at the moment though, turf will come up from his head sometime later!
And I can change his hair style as I wish!
I'm going to report on this grass dog from now on when I update my blog!

Gift from Singapore...

About a week ago, I've got a surprise gift from Singapore! It was from Joei, who is one of my Blogger friend. I was so surpised because I haven't expected receive one from her at all.

There were very beautiful stitched card and a really curios red box in there!
She stitched the "Thank You!" card by herself, it was so beautifully stitched, and I was touched her letter very much.


In the red box, there was really beautiful Biscornu which she stitched for me, and also she dyed the fabric with tea (18ct Aida)!
This is so beautifl, isn't it?! I was really impressedI have never done any Biscornu yet, but I was really interested in stiching Biscornu, so this perfect Biscornu will be my model!
Her stitch is so beautiful, I have to learn by imitating her beautiful stitching!

Actually, I don't deserve this at all, to receive such lovely gift from her...
Well, she has sked me to translate some Japanese charts (Fujico Collection) into English, if it does OK with me, for a long time ago. It was a really polite message, but actually I hesitated a bit to translate them beause my English ability is not good enough to transltate them at all, I thought...
So I told her so and then promised it but only the key parts (like, 2 strands, etc..).


After I've received the charts, unfortunatelly I was quite busy, in the day time everyday I had to chasing around my son, and at night there were some exchanges etc... so I had to stitch...
I knew I had to her translate, but it took 3 months from her order to I've sent it outI kept her waiting for 3 months, I really should apologize her, but whenever I mailed her, she was very kind to me and just say "I know you are busy, so please take you time!"...


When I've sent out the translated charts to her, I added a pair of "Hardanger Coasters" which I've made for a luv luv couple.
She was so happy to received the envelope from me, and this time she made me a Biscornu and a card instead...
Actually I have to say sorry to her, kept her waiting so long, but how nice she is!
Do I actually deserve this lovely gift???
But, thank you so much for your kindness and pure herat, Joei!
Your gifts made my soooo happy and they will be my treasure, too!And moreover, I'm happy that we became friends from this exhange!
